NSK wins the "2019 Corporate Governance Award"

NSK was named the "Winner Company" by the Japan Association of Directors in the "2019 Corporate Governance" selection and was awarded a certificate.

The "Corporate Governance Award of the Year" was established by the Japan Association of Directors in 2015. It is given to companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange that implement director reforms to achieve healthy growth in the medium and long term, comply with the "Corporate Governance Code" established by the Financial Services Agency and the Tokyo Stock Exchange, and take relevant measures in accordance with the practical guidelines for the "Corporate Governance System" established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

In order to achieve sustainable growth and enhance corporate value in the medium and long term, NSK began to set up a nomination committee and other institutions in 2004. NSK has also continued to improve its corporate governance system by implementing the following measures:

Appointment of five independent outside directors with professional knowledge, rich experience, high ethical values and broad vision

Outside directors account for more than one-third of the board of directors

Effectiveness evaluation of the board of directors is implemented by external institutions

NSK attaches great importance to corporate governance and has achieved healthy mid- to long-term corporate development through corporate reforms, for which it was selected as a "Winner Company". In the future, NSK will continue to take measures to improve corporate governance in order to achieve sustainable growth and enhance mid- to long-term corporate value.
